Why I Paint

My paintings are a personal expression of the emotions conjured by the passing of time.

Everything changes, always.  There is beauty (and a measure of sadness) in the contemplation of things that cannot, by their very nature, remain the same.  Places I have visited shift and change, constantly. Landscapes seen through my memory’s insistence are often the most evocative of all.  Yet even these remembered places do not remain the same in my mind’s eye.

Flowers too, are altered - by the elements, by time, and by our scrutiny. Sometimes, the verge of decay is the most fascinating, in its unavoidable truth.

My goal is to capture the feeling of these moments on canvas.
